Exercises
Practise talking about the future from the past – ‘He said that he would…’, ‘I was going to…’, ‘She was meeting a client…’ – with real business examples. Every section mixes the forms, so you always have to decide: would or will? An offer, an intention or a fixed plan?
Choose the right tense from two or three options. Every answer comes with a short explanation.
Type the correct form of the verb. Contractions and full forms are both accepted.
Match sentence beginnings to their endings – a test of meaning as well as tense.
All lessons are part of our Verb Tenses in Business guide.
