Who are we
At Fluency Space we teach purely advanced English for business leaders through private classes. We do not teach for exams, our role is to make you feel more confident in an international business environment.
Fluency Space was founded 7 years ago with an aim to offer entrepreneurs, start-up owners and business leaders with more stimulating topics to discuss in lessons. Standard Business English textbooks do a good job, but they don't offer inspiring or entertaining topics that can motivate leaders to learn over the long term. Of course, the topic which is of most interest to us is your own business, which we will discuss in depth in order to simulate real conversations you will encounter with clients and counterparts. We also have a range of lessons built around the psychology of leadership, lessons in success from inspirational leaders and figures, AI and the future of business, cognitive biases, inspiring business successes and infamous business failures.
In order to provide inspirational lessons, we have put together over 500 hours of materials on our self-study platform -The Fluency Space Academy. All students get lifetime access to this ever-growing library of inspirational materials from best-selling business writers. As we discuss business every day, we are immersed in latest practices and we are often inspired by students themselves. We therefore update our academy weekly with fresh articles to inspire business leaders. We do not neglect grammar either - As passionate linguists who communicate regularly with speakers of over 20 different languages, we are well-versed in the difficulties that speakers of different European languages encounter, and we have over 250 diagrams to help.

We have collected 14 years worth of data on vocabulary that entrepreneurs really need based on real discussion. We have put that together in 34 advanced vocabulary modules, and we strive to use this in all business discussions in class.

Fluency Space was founded to give leaders something more stimulating than is found in Business English textbooks. We base our lessons around inspirational themes, such as success stories from inspirational leaders and figures, leadership best-practices and motivating business triumphs.
A focus on your active English
Everything we learn is aimed at improving your spoken English. We use special techniques to help you use new vocabulary and grammar automatically in spontaneous speech. We turn passive vocabulary into active vocabulary, and we use AI to monitor new vocabulary use in real-time.

Our history
A Passion for language and business, a journey from England to Prague
Hi my name is David, founder of Fluency Space. I am a passionate linguist from Leicester, England, with over 14 years' experience in English teaching. After studying linguistics at Sheffield University, I came to Prague in 2011 to train as a teacher. For 2 years I travelled from office to office in this beautiful city, delivering in-company lessons to professionals. As time went on, I felt that topics covered in textbooks didn't quite offer the inspiration and excitement that some of my students craved, so I set about creating my own materials and founded Fluency Space in 2018! Since then the library of materials has grown and our core principles have evolved. We are now expanding our team of materials writers and teachers, hoping to bring you the highest quality lessons on the market.
